FAQ
Traditionally, Ashtanga Yoga is practiced through mysore.
What is mysore?
Mysore practice allows students to learn the Ashtanga sequence at their own pace / ability. You will first start with the basic foundations. Once comfortable, you will be asked to try to remember the sequence with support. Based on your ability to remember and do some of the poses, you will be given more postures (asanas) over time.
Through Mysore, you will be able to develop a yoga practice that you can do on your own - anytime, anywhere. However, it is recommend that you perform this under the guidance of an experienced teacher.
Can I practice Mysore if I have never done yoga before?
Mysore practice is for anyone. For those new to yoga, it may take some additional time to memorize the sequence / postures, however, we move at an individual pace based on the practitioner’s skill level and determined ability.
How often should I practice mysore?
Mysore is traditionally practiced 6 days / week in the early mornings. For those new to the practice, it is recommended that you start with just a few days a week if possible (2 -3 days/week). Over time, as you develop a new routine, you may begin to practice more frequently.
